Vaping Among Teens May Increase Exposure to Lead and Uranium #

A recent study has indicated that vaping may pose risks to teens by increasing their exposure to lead and uranium, potentially impacting brain and organ development. The study analyzed a representative sample of U.S. adolescents and found that urine lead levels were elevated among frequent and intermittent vapers compared to occasional vapers. Additionally, teens who preferred sweet flavors had higher levels of uranium in their urine. While the study did not establish a causal relationship, it suggests that the heating process in e-cigarettes may release metal particles into the inhaled liquid. Experts emphasize the need for monitoring e-cigarette users for exposure to toxic metals.
